Billboard Hot 100 (Issue Date: April 16, 2011)

Katy Perry continues to reign supreme at the Billboard Hot 100 as "E.T" (with Kanye West) spends a second week atop the chart. With this, all of Katy Perry's #1 hits spend more than just a single week at #1, her first #1 "I Kissed A Girl" leads the pack with 7 weeks on top followed by "California Gurls" (6 weeks), "Firework" (4 weeks) and "Teenage Dream" (2 weeks). The song will likely spent a 3rd week on top next as it continues to dominate US iTunes and airplay continues to soar.

Adele's "21" will cross 1 million sales next week, the first album in the US to cross the mark this year. Adele is also achieving record breaking success in the UK as her album continues to to be the best selling album there for 10 weeks straight with her second single "Someone Like You" smashing the chart as it still in the top 2 several weeks after its release and after 5 weeks on top the chart. Meanwhile, her Hot 100 fortune are looking brightly as "Rolling in the Deep" zooms #17-#10 this week finally cracking the top 10. This song will likely go higher in the succeeding weeks as airplay is finally picking up as well sales are consistent.

Britney Spears earned another #1 album with "Femme Fatale" topping the Billboard 200 this week. Her first single "Hold It Against Me" debuted at #1 in February but since then fell fast on the chart. The song plummeted to #75 this week from #52 last week on its 12th week on the chart. However, her second single "Til The World Ends" climbs #22-#13 this week. The track already peaked at #9 a couple of weeks ago but it's a good trend that the song is climbing back again as opposed to the first single's free fall on the chart.

Taio Cruz's "Dynamite" is still going strong on the chart, up to #44 from #46 last week on its 44th week on the chart. However, his third single "Higher" didn't go any higher from its #24 peak several weeks ago and actually fell off the chart this week 4 after 15 weeks on the chart.

Internet sensation "Friday" is fizzling out, the track is down to #66 this week. Is the fad finally over? Let's wait and see...
